SciFinder Scholar

Below find detailed instructions on installing the SciFinder Scholar software onto your computer.  This is an application which will need to be installed on your computer.  The username and passwords for the MSU account has already been setup and stored in the configuration files.

* To access SciFinder Scholar you must be either on campus or connected to Mississippi State's dial-in modem pool.

The Mississippi State subscribes to two concurrent licenses (only four people can access SciFinder Scholar at one time). Please close the program when not in use.

For PC Users

Download SciFinder Scholar 2007 by clicking here. (17 MB file)

This is a self-extracting zip file.

1. Double click on the file (after downloading). The program will automatically extract to the folder c:\sfschlr (on your hardrive).
2. Click the "setup" button once the program is done self-extracting.
3. Continue through the installation process.
4. Installation is complete. You can now run SciFinder Scholar 2007.

 

For Macintosh Users

Download SciFinder Scholar by clicking here.  This will open a dialogue box requesting you to select the drive where you want the software downloaded.   After selecting the appropriate drive on your computer, select OK.  (Download will begin)

Extract the zip file and drag the contents to 'applications'. It is recommended that you create a shortcut to easily locate the program.
